My second favorite thing to do after writing is driving.  I love to drive. I live for a great personalized license plate. Whenever I'm out driving, I'm always catching some of the coolest and most meaningful personalized license plates on the road. I have probably 250 photos of people's license plates but I decided to just share my favorites. This year made ten years that I've lived in Georgia, The Peach State. I guess I've developed a Southern accent after being here for a decade because my brother always tell me "Dang, you sound so country!" 😂 I can't help it. I've lived in the South my whole life. Today is Self Care Sunday and I'm going to share with you ten of my personal self care tips that keep me balanced, grounded and help me maintain a healthy mental space.   MASK - I like to put on a clay mask one to two times a week. I usually use a bentonite clay mask that tightens pores and removes excess oil and dirt. I wanted to try something different for a change so I've been using a green tea clay mask.  PEDICURE - I get a pedicure every six weeks. I won't leave home if my toes aren't done. It's really that serious for me.  HOT SHOWERS - Taking a relaxing, steamy hot shower every 24 - 48 hours is a consistent part of my self care routine. This soap looks ugly but it smells soooooo good and I love to shower with it.  COOKING - I love to cook for myself and others. Cooking myself a delicious meal like BBQ beef ribs, homemade macaroni and cheese and collard greens is really self care. I've worked in restaurants before for many years and if you knew how man...

Yesterday while I was at work some random guy asked me "Are you Muslim? Why are you working? I thought Muslim women didn't work. I thought y'all stayed at home and took care of the children while your husbands provided for you." So then I had to explain to him that first of all, not all Muslim women are married and not all Muslim women have children, like myself. I'm single and I'm not a mother. Then I came to a disappointing realization of how ignorant many people in America are about Muslims, Islam and our lifestyle. Some people don't understand the differences between American Muslims and Muslims from other countries. Most of the Muslim women that I know between the ages of 20-40 are actually single and don't have children like myself. People have so many stereotypes about Muslims that are so false. The level of ignorance and stupidity is seriously unbelievable. So just for the record, American Muslims do NOT have arranged marriages. We marry whome...
