Forty Feels

Blessed to be able to climb over that hill

You wanna know how my forty feels? 

Forty feels fabulous, forty feels great 

Forty is a flex when you look twenty eight 

10 times 4, 32 plus 8

I'm not letting 40 get me bent outta shape

Forty feels like competing with no one, it's me vs. me

Forty feels like that main character energy 

Forty feels fun and free, forty is like fine wine

I'm just getting started, still ain't reached my prime

Forty looks and feels like 20 when you take care of yourself and have good genes

Forty feels like starting last but finishing first, being the star in the scene 

Forty is the fortitude to keep pushing forward and keep flourishing 

To keep dreaming, writing, believing and imagining 

Forty feels dope and fresh. My forty is still fly.

Forty is phenomenal, and flying so high. 

Jehan's 40 Firm Life Laws

1. I'm not explaining myself to anyone but Allah. Only He knows my heart and true intentions.

2. I'm not loving anyone more than I love Allah and myself.

3. I put all of my faith and trust in Allah. I'll ride or die for Him and only Him. 💞☝🏾

4. My peace of mind, sanity, safety, health and well-being are priorities. If it doesn't involve peace, kindness, respect, responsibility, accountability and balance then it doesn't involve me.

5. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. However you receive and comprehend it is up to you. 

6. I'm not accepting or making any excuses for anyone's repetitive negative, intolerable, unacceptable, toxic behavior. (That includes friend, family, lover, coworker, etc.) 

7. I'm not over loving, over giving or self sacrificing myself for anyone.

8. I'm not babysitting another adult for whatever reason they may need babysitting. 

9. I'm not draining myself or wasting my energy and life force trying to change a person because that's impossible.

10. I'm not making anyone else's problem my problem. 

11. I'm not showing Shaytan any mercy. I don't deal with Shaytan at all.

12. I'm not wasting my time trying to save or rescue anyone that doesn't want to be helped. Get right or get left. ✌🏾💨

13. After a person shows me who they really are, I'm not giving anyone a third, fourth, fifth or sixth chance to show me again. When I'm done, I'M DONE. 💯 

14. I'm not afraid to start over in life. I embrace new beginnings. 

15. I'm not afraid to be alone. There's strength and power in solitude. 

16. I'm not comparing myself and my journey to anyone else's. They are them and I am me. 

17. I'm wise enough to know that everything should be done in moderation. Like country folks in the South say "Too much of anything will make a dog sick." 

18. I'm not watering any dead flowers. I'm only pouring into people that are trying to help themselves and have done the work on themselves first.

19. I understand that you are the company that you keep, so I'm very selective of who I build friendships with and allow into my inner circle. 

20. I'm not afraid to stand up for myself, and stand firm in my values and beliefs. 

21. I'm only investing my time and effort where I see results and progress. 

22. I'm not shrinking myself or dimming my light to make anyone else feel comfortable. 

23. I'm not falling in love with potential. I'm being realistic and accepting people for who they actually are and not who I wish they were and want them to be. 

24. I'm not carrying anyone else's trauma or pain. I have enough of my own to heal.

25. I'm not giving empathy for anyone's self inflicted misery. (We've all been through something. Don't make excuses for yourself. Do better and get professional help.) 

26. I'm very secure and comfortable with who I am and not afraid to be my unapologetic, imperfect, authentic self. 

27. I'm not hiding behind makeup and fake corny filters on social media or in real life. What you see is what you get. 

28. I'm not giving any energy to anything that's not in front of my face or doesn't have my @ name mentioned in it. I don't even see it. 😌

29. I'm completely unbothered and disregard the opinions, one-sided judgement, false accusations and assumptions of people that don't know me personally, know facts, or know my whole life story.

30. I'm not accepting any unsolicited relationship advice from anyone that hasn't survived what I've survived.

31. I'm not accepting any life advice from anyone that hasn't faced my same struggles and challenges and never had to walk in my shoes. 

32. I'm wise enough to know the difference between loyalty and stupidity, and between being patient and just wasting my time. 

33. I'm not a victim. How others treat me is not a reflection of me. It's a reflection of them. Some people are at war with themselves, fighting everlasting internal battles against their own demons, lashing out on all the innocent people around them that love and care about them. 

34. If you don't catch me while I care then you won't catch me at all. 

35. I'm not waiting on any opportunities. I'm creating my own, co-signing and validating myself. 

36. I stay out of other people's business so I can fully concentrate and focus more on my own. You achieve more in life that way. 

37. I take full, complete ownership of my happiness and joy. I'll never place the keys to my happiness in anyone else's hands and give anyone that much power and control of my overall contentment. The only person that will ever make me happy is myself. I believe happiness is an inside job. 

38. I'm grateful for everything and consider everything a blessing, including every rejection, failure, and setback. 

39. I look at redirection as protection and being pushed towards what's better for me, my true calling and my purpose in life. 

40. My time is the most valuable, sacred and precious thing that I own. I don't have any more time to waste, if it's not helping me better my life then it's just a waste of my time. If it doesn't make dollars then IT. DOESN'T. MAKE. SENSE.

Honestly, I'm an old soul full of wisdom and I've been a responsible, cautious, NO NONSENSE type of person my whole life. I'm most definitely not entertaining any nonsense at 40. 

I uphold these 40 laws over myself and my life at all times. I will abide by every single mentioned law from this day forward, on this Third day of December, year Two Thousand and Twenty Five until I take my last breathe and my heart stops beating. They are firm, solid, concrete rules, commandments and unbreakable LAWS. 📜💯👩🏾‍⚖️
